Pipe Density Meter

  • The product must be installed vertically (that is, the pipeline must run straight);
  • The verticality to the ground is not greater than 5 degrees (if the installation is not vertical, or when the local gravity acceleration deviates from the standard gravity acceleration, a deviation will occur, and how to eliminate the resulting deviation will be introduced later).
  • The straight pipe section at both ends of the flange is not less than 3 times the diameter of the pipe.
  • The medium in the pipeline must be full without air bubbles.

Insertion Density Meter

  • The product must be inserted and installed vertically at the top. The verticality to the ground is not more than 5 degrees (if the installation is not vertical, or when the local gravity acceleration deviates from the standard gravity acceleration, a deviation will occur, and how to eliminate the resulting deviation will be introduced later).
  • When installing on the side, the straight pipe section of the flange must be installed smoothly.

Side Mounted Differential Pressure Density Meter

  • When measuring fluids in horizontal tanks or vessels, side-mounted instruments can provide more accurate readings.
  • Side mounting might be easier in scenarios where top or bottom access to the tank is restricted or complicated.
  • For fluids with high viscosity, having a side-mounted device can help in getting a more consistent and stable reading.
  • If the fluid is aggressive or corrosive, a side-mounted device might be preferred to minimize exposure and risk.

The static pressure density meter can measure the density of high viscosity liquids. However, it is easily affected by fluctuations in liquid level.

To remove the impact of liquid level changes, we often use the differential pressure method. This method involves the liquid flowing through a vertical conduit. Install two pressure sensors spaced h apart on the conduit. The measured pressures are P 1 and P 2 , respectively. After measuring the pressure of two liquid columns of different heights. It can be obtained from formula (1): P 1 – P 2 =ρ g (H 1 – H 2 ).
